A Wonderful Experience with Perfumes of Your Choice

June 16th 2010 11:55
Many people love wearing scents. It makes their lives alive and more meaningful. It becomes a trademark to most people most especially to those in the corporate world. We always encounter different forms of fragrances but can we really identify which is which? Here are some details for you to best choose which kind of perfume would best fit your fragrance needs.

Perfume and Eau de parfum - Perfumes are more concentrated than Eau de parfum. The first has a higher percentage of fragrance oils which contains up to 40% while the latter has only 14%. Perfume is the purest form of fragrance but is more expensive than any other form. Its scent also lasts longer and is mostly dabbed rather than sprayed on the body. The scent of Eau de parfum usually lessens after a few hours. The best parts of your body where you can apply scents are on the parts where the skin is the warmest. These can be on your wrists or ankles, between your breasts or the inside of the elbow.

Eau de toilette or Eau de cologne - Eau de cologne was the most common type many many years ago. However, at this time it is not commonly used anymore. Most perfume producers like Elizabeth Arden produce them now in the forms of Eau de toilette already. Eau de toilette, however, is the weakest form of fragrance which only contains 3% and usually lasts for a few hours only.

Scented cream and balm - some perfume companies produce scented lotions, creams and balm. This kind only uses 8% of fragrance oils but since they have thick base and sticks on the skin longer, the scent also lingers on the skin.
